desLibris is open to the public, so there is no need to open an account to see previews and use the basic search functionality. However, to access the full service, an account must be opened.
All accounts are free of charge.
These account types are available:
Library - Provides authenticated access for anonymous users.
Professional - Provides password-based access for organizations not requiring authentication.
Individual - Provides password-based access for individuals.
The links above go to the sign-in page for each account type, where more information is provided.
Once a free account has been set up, account holders may add entitlements or purchase single titles for access.
Individual account holders may also set up Bookshelves, use bookmarks and annotations, and download entitlements to the personal reader apps.
As "group" accounts by definition, Library and Professional accounts as such have no personal or individual privileges. But all Individual account holders attached to these accounts have access to any entitlements held by their groups.
