Overview
This is the most common option for authenticating multiple users. Every internet user has a specific IP address. Libraries and other institutions have one or more static IP addresses (multiple addresses are known as an IP address "range".)
This is a static IP address: 200.105.210.118
These are valid entries for IP ranges:
200.105.210.* (for an entire class C range.)
200.105.210.50-100 (for part of a class C range.)
IP authentication will admit any user entering the site from a validated address associated with a valid account (your library) to the entitlement held by your library.
How to enter IP addresses
From your Library Admin login, go to your Profile and select the IP and Remote Access tab.
To test your access, log out of your Library Admin account and then
click on this link. The number of results shown should correspond to your licensed
Entitlement. If this is not the case, you should verify that the IP address setting is correct. For more help, contact us.
