To purchase more than one title for your library

To purchase more than one title for your library

To get a price quote or purchase a book or books, login to your desLibris admin account and locate the book(s) using Search or Advanced Search. (A good approach is to create a set containing the titles of interest according to search criteria (date, contributor, subject) from which selections may be made.

Go to the "Checklist" view:

From "Available Actions" choose from the options shown.

Add Selection (or Search) to Cart will place all available titles in the cart. Click on the cart icon to open the cart. Here you will find pricing and tax calculations for the selected titles, and  to proceed.

Below the pricing totals are various options for proceeding. The first two "Activate" options will make the selected titles available to  your account immediately and generate an invoice.

When selections have been made,  the "Add Selections to Cart" button will present a confirmation screen showing titles ordered / rights chosen and offering either instant activation (using either an invoice or credit card payment or an emailed quote.

All titles ordered are placed in your library's account immediately and are available to your library users under the license terms purchased.
To view all titles owned by your library, use the "desLibris in your library" filter on the Search/Results page.

An itemized invoice (see below) will be generated for every purchase. Purchases made in error may be reversed without charge or penalty within 14 days after order date.
To reverse a charge, contact support@canadianelectroniclibrary.ca or use the "Dispute" option on the invoicing system.

Using "Access Denied" as a means of building an Acquisition List

On the "desLibris in your Library" panel is an "Access Denied" link, which will present a list of all titles where users have attempted to open a book but have been denied access.
There are three reasons why access may be denied.
The most common is that the title is not in your library's entitlement.
If the book is in your entitlement but is licensed for Single-user access, access may be denied if the book is being used by another patron.*
Access may also be denied where a concurrent user limit is in place.

*For this reason,

Using the Checklist view, you may either add the selection to your cart or your Acquisition Profile for further purchase consideration.
